Solar 4G cameras for farms in Nigeria
In Nigeria a solar 4G camera keeps working through grid outages and does not need a generator or Wi-Fi. This page covers the network bands, what cameras sell for, the NCC registration rule that affects every SIM camera, and how to buy wholesale.
Why a solar 4G camera in Nigeria
- Poultry, fish and crop farms across Nigeria lose equipment, feed and produce at night, and frequent grid outages make wired CCTV unreliable even where there is a connection.
- Diesel generators are expensive to run just for cameras, which is why solar models sell well in Nigeria.
- Because of the NCC device registration, buy only cameras whose seller can show that the IMEI is registered.
4G networks and bands in Nigeria
A 4G camera only connects when its radio supports the band the network uses where you mount it. These are the bands listed for each network in the sources below. They are a starting point, not an operator statement, so we check the band version against your network before we ship.
| Network | 4G bands listed |
|---|---|
| MTN Nigeria | B3 (1800 MHz), B7 (2600 MHz) |
| Glo | B3 (1800 MHz), B28 (700 MHz) |
| Airtel Nigeria | B3 (1800 MHz) |
Our Africa band version supports B1, B3, B7, B8, B20 and B28. If a seller cannot tell you which bands a camera supports, assume it may not work on your network.
Rules for SIM cameras in Nigeria
Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). On 10 September 2026 Voice of Nigeria reported that the NCC is rolling out a Device Management System: SIM-enabled devices brought into Nigeria must be registered by IMEI before they are sold, and devices that are not registered will not be permitted to operate on Nigerian networks. Importers and dealers are expected to register stock. We print each camera’s IMEI on the carton for this reason. Solvigil models do not hold NCC type approval yet; importers should confirm the current process with the NCC and their clearing agent.
