Seller asking prices on Jiji Kenya for solar 4G cameras, seen in search results on 26 Oct 2026. Most single and dual-lens models were KSh 5,000–7,500. These are sellers’ asking prices, not prices we verified at a shop. The marketplace blocks automated reading, so these figures come from search-engine results of the listings.

What changes the price

  • Lenses. One pan-tilt lens is the cheapest; dual and triple-lens cameras add a fixed wide view and cost more.
  • Zoom. Optical zoom (4x to 10x) is the biggest single price step.
  • Panel and battery. A larger panel keeps the camera online through cloudy weeks; small panels are where cheap cameras save money.
  • Brand. Hikvision and Dahua solar cameras list at the top of the range; V380 and Ubox-app cameras at the bottom and middle.
  • Network lock. Some sellers sell the same camera cheaper when it is locked to one network, and more as “universal”.
  • Extras. SD card, pole, installation and a data bundle are sometimes included and sometimes not; compare like with like.

Before you buy a solar camera in Kenya

  1. Ask which 4G bands it supports.Compare with the bands on our Kenya page.
  2. Ask for panel watts and battery capacity.“Solar powered” alone says nothing about cloudy days.
  3. Check the app.Find out whether cloud recording needs a paid plan, and whether the app is still updated.
  4. Test with your own SIM before paying.A camera that never connects is the most common complaint.

Solar camera price in Kenya: questions

What is the cheapest solar camera price in Kenya?

The lowest asking price we saw was KSh 4,999. At that price expect a small panel and battery and no published band list; check that it supports your network before paying.

Why do some solar cameras in Kenya cost three times more than others?

Brand (Hikvision and Dahua cost more), number of lenses, optical zoom, the size of the panel and battery, an included SD card, and whether the camera is locked to one network or works with any SIM.

Do the prices include the SIM card and data?

Usually not. Budget for a data SIM and a monthly bundle on top of the camera; our SIM guide explains how much data a camera uses.

Should I pay a seller before I see the camera?

Marketplaces themselves advise against paying in advance. Inspect the camera, test it with your SIM, then pay.
