S49-AOV

AOV solar 4G camera with 24/7 recording (S49-AOV)

The S49-AOV is the always-on version of our S49 pan-tilt camera. Instead of sleeping until motion wakes it, it keeps recording to the SD card around the clock at a low frame rate, so the minutes before an alert are on the card too. A 7 W panel, the largest in the range, keeps it running.

  • AOV: records 24/7
  • 7 W separate panel
  • 355° pan, F1.0 lens
  • Colour night view to 20 m
From $30per unit, FOB China, at 3,000+ units; MOQ 500
  • Minimum order 500 units; mixed models count towards price tiers.
  • Band version for your country printed on the carton with the IMEI.
  • Pairs with the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app.

Who the AOV solar 4G camera is for

Choose it for

  • Fuel, generators and workshops, where the minutes before an alert matter
  • Buyers who want continuous recording on the SD card without mains power
  • Sunny sites with room for a larger panel

Choose another model for

  • Shaded or very cloudy sites: always-on recording needs the full 7 W of sun (use the SQ67 with a spare battery)
  • Watching a gate and a yard at the same time (use the dual-lens SQ62 or SQ67)

Why we chose the S49-AOV for farms

A normal solar camera sleeps and wakes on motion, so it records from the moment it notices something. On a farm, the thing you need is often what happened just before: how the person got to the fuel tank, which way the vehicle came in. AOV (always-on video) records a low-frame-rate picture all the time, and needs more power to do it, which is why this version has a 7 W panel and an F1.0 lens that sees in colour at night.

Farm jobs the AOV solar 4G camera does well

  • Diesel tanks, generators and workshops, where you want the full story and not just the alert
  • Equipment sheds and tractor yards that are robbed at night
  • Harvest stores and packing yards during the weeks when produce is on site
  • Sites with good sun, where the 7 W panel can keep up with all-day recording

S49-AOV in rain, heat and humidity

Rainy seasons, hot afternoons and wet mornings are what break cheap outdoor cameras. Here is what the factory documents rate the S49-AOV for, and how to install it so the rating holds.

The S49-AOV on a farm in a tropical rainstorm, mounted with the panel facing open sky.
The S49-AOV on a farm in a tropical rainstorm, mounted with the panel facing open sky.
  • IP65 housing: dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction (IEC 60529). Heavy tropical rain and wind-driven rain are inside that rating. It is not rated for being under water, so do not mount it where floods can reach it.
  • Operating temperature −20 °C ~ +50 °C. That covers hot lowland farms; high mountain sites with winter nights below the lower figure are outside the rating.
  • The factory documents give no humidity figure for this model. On foggy or very humid sites, mount it under an overhang and keep the SIM and card cover screwed shut.
  • Cloudy weeks: the panel charges less in rain, and the battery carries the gap. The specification sheet gives about 2 months at 10 alerts a day with no sun. Live viewing uses the battery much faster.
  • For rain: point the panel at open sky and tilt it so water runs off; let the panel cable hang in a loop below the socket so water drips off before it reaches the plug; never mount under trees that drip.
  • The factory documents state no lightning or surge rating. The camera has no long cable runs, but on exposed hilltops mount it below the top of the pole or roof.

S49-AOV full specifications

Every line is a figure from the factory’s documents for the 4G version: the catalogue and, for the models that have one, the model’s own specification sheet (sensor, aperture, size, weight, packing). The battery energy is worked out from the capacity. Where the factory gives no figure we say so instead of guessing; where the two disagree, the specification sheet wins. Standby time is with no sun and the camera waiting for alerts; live viewing uses the battery much faster. The same figures for all models on sale are side by side on the solar 4G camera comparison.

What comes in the S49-AOV box

The AOV solar 4G camera ships as a complete kit: the camera, its solar power (7 W solar panel, separate panel on a cable), mounting hardware and an English quick-start guide. The carton label shows the model, the 4G band version and the IMEI. Tall poles, security screws and microSD cards can be added to any order. Before installing, read how to install a solar 4G camera and check the panel and battery size for your site.

4G solar PTZ cameras with a 7 W panel and a 7,800 mAh battery appear on Alibaba at about $55–107 at a one-unit minimum, and AOV PTZ models are listed with tiered B2B prices on Global Sources. At volume, the S49-AOV sits a few dollars above our standard S49 for the larger panel and always-on recording. We price level with that market rather than below it.

What AOV means

AOV stands for always-on video. A standard battery camera sleeps and only starts recording when its sensor notices movement, so the first seconds of an event are often missing. An AOV camera keeps recording at a low frame rate all the time, and still sends an alert when it detects a person. On the SD card you get the whole night, not just the clips.

Always-on recording uses more power: the factory sheet gives 90 mW standby for the S49-AOV against 4.8 mW for the standard S49. That is why it comes with a 7 W panel (232 × 166 mm) instead of 5 W.

Colour at night

The S49-AOV has no infrared LEDs. Its F1.0 lens and 10 white LEDs give a full-colour picture at night to about 20 m, so you see the colour of clothes and vehicles, and the light itself tells an intruder they are on camera.

Where it fits

Choose the S49-AOV for the one or two places on a farm where you want the full record: the fuel tank, the generator, the workshop. Pair it with standard cameras elsewhere. Mixed orders count towards the same price tiers.

S49-AOV questions

What SD card does it need?

A microSD card up to 128 GB. Low-frame-rate recording uses much less space than full-speed video, so the card holds far more hours than it would in normal recording.

Does AOV use more mobile data?

Continuous recording goes to the SD card, not over the network. Mobile data is used for alerts and when you watch live or play back from your phone.

How is it different from the S49?

Same body and pan-tilt head. The S49-AOV records all the time, has a 7 W panel instead of 5 W, turns 355° instead of 270°, and uses white LEDs for colour night view instead of infrared.
